MSCI Announces May 2024 Semi-Annual Index Review for Egypt


MSCI has released its May 2024 Semi-Annual Index Review for Egypt, outlining changes to the MSCI Egypt Standard Index and MSCI Egypt Small Cap Index. According to the announcement, the MSCI Egypt Standard Index will see TMGH EY being added with a proforma weight of 21%, while HRHO EY will be deleted, which currently holds a weight of 6%.


In the case of the MSCI Egypt Small Cap Index, HRHO EY will be added with a proforma weight of 11%, while TMGH EY (current weight: 35%), MFPC EY (current weight: 10%), CIRA EY (current weight: 3%), CLHO EY (current weight: 3%), and HELI EY (current weight: 2%) will be deleted from the index. These changes are set to take effect at the close of 30 May 2024.


The adjustments made by MSCI in the index composition reflect the evolving market dynamics and the inclusion or exclusion of specific securities based on their respective weights and performance.
