EGX Rises as USD/EGP Exchange Rate Appreciates; EGX30 Closes +0.98% at 29,344 Points

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) witnessed a positive shift in response to the appreciation of the USD/EGP exchange rate. Previously averaging between 46.60 and 46.80, the exchange rate rose to EGP 47.40 per USD at both the National Bank of Egypt and Commercial International Bank. 


The EGX30, the main stock market index, closed with a gain of +0.98%, rising by 284 points to reach the level of 29,344 points. As a result of the exchange rate movement, many stocks changed from red to green during the session, and several others closed the session in positive territory.
