Egypt's "ABDA" boosts local industries and relieves pressure on USD

During the International Manufacturing Convention and Exhibition opening, the Federation of Egyptian Industries introduced the youth behind "ABDA" (to Start)initiative.




ABDA commenced a year ago, targeting to improve industrial manufacturing efficiency and quality by building a network between local and international factories to transfer the Know-how to the local producers and increase the national components of the final product. A step toward lowering Egypt's USD consumption and fulfilling its needs for substantial infrastructure overhauling, where local factories started delivering machines, water pumps, and pipelines to the national projects with 40% national components.


Easing the legal registration procedures for small and medium factories is another objective for ABDA; supporting SMEs to be included in the formal economy and the initiative buisness cycle enabled considerable SMEs to enhance their product quality and participate as part of the supply chain for the large factories; it also played a strategic role in the supply chain of "Haya Karima."
